2026

Attending the 20th Shenzhen International Financial Expo

HKAWM attended the 20th Shenzhen International Financial Expo, held in 2026 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (Futian). Themed "The AI Era: Synergy between Manufacturing and Services," the expo featured zones on fintech, industrial finance, wealth management and cross-border finance.

The Institute also joined one of its highlight sessions — a silver-economy investment and financing matchmaking event (Luohu industry-finance session) — exchanging views on financing matchmaking for the silver economy and on industry-finance collaboration across the Greater Bay Area.

Participating in a Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cross-Border Financial Cooperation Forum

HKAWM was invited to take part in a themed forum on Shenzhen-Hong Kong cross-border financial cooperation. Bringing together Hong Kong-based financial firms and industry associations, the discussion focused on strengthening cross-border cooperation between the two cities and deepening exchange in cross-border finance and asset management, with a shared aim of building a Shenzhen-Hong Kong-linked international wealth management hub and supporting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cross-border Investment & Financing Senior Talent Programme

As the national strategic deployment for the Greater Bay Area continues to deepen, financial cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong has entered a critical period of high-quality development. The formal launch of the "Wealth Management Connect 2.0" framework not only marks a new high in cross-border financial cooperation, but also creates a more efficient environment for wealth management and capital mobility between the two regions.

Against a complex international financial environment, the question of how to fully leverage the policy benefits of "Wealth Management Connect 2.0" — accelerating diversification and internationalisation of GBA financial services — has become a focal industry topic. To address this, the Shenzhen Investment Fund Association and HKAWM jointly hosted this senior talent programme, injecting new energy into cross-border financial cooperation.

The programme convened senior practitioners from securities firms, law firms and asset management institutions, alongside university faculty and subject-matter experts — providing a comprehensive analysis of the opportunities and challenges in Shenzhen-Hong Kong financial cooperation, from macroeconomic conditions and cross-border strategy to legal compliance and frontier industry trends.

The Institute brought together several mainland family offices for a visit to InvestHK FamilyOfficeHK, gaining insight into Hong Kong's latest family office policies and trends. As a leading international financial centre and wealth management hub, Hong Kong offers distinctive advantages for family office operations and growth. The Institute is committed to building effective two-way bridges between Hong Kong and the mainland.

GBA Pension Finance Evaluation Committee Inauguration

The Institute attended the inauguration ceremony of the GBA Pension Finance Evaluation Committee as a co-founding participant in the committee's establishment. Together with other member organisations, the Institute will help drive the development of GBA pension finance standards and evaluation frameworks — supporting the high-quality development of the silver economy.

The Institute attended the 2023 Guangming District Sci-Tech Finance Conference, held under the theme of advancing high-quality fintech development. The Institute's delegation attended the 17th Shenzhen International Financial Expo. Centred on the theme of "financial innovation driving high-quality development", the visit included in-depth dialogue with mainland financial institutions, regulators and industry experts on the latest practices in fintech, green finance and inclusive finance.
